Boarding at Sadie’s Rules

Our focus here at Sadie's Rules is on dog behavior and training, not boarding, but we offer boarding to our graduates so that they have a place to board that preserves their behavioral health. We love seeing our alumni again!

Boarding here is a little different than the average boarding facility. Our staff (and our family) plans our days around our dog-related appointments, so we schedule specific drop off and pick up appointment times for each dog. If this is your first time booking with us (or first time in a while) please read all the information below to familiarize yourself with how boarding works here at Sadie’s Rules.

We have recently upgraded our boarding system!

We are now using the ProPet software to schedule boarding reservations. You should have received an email from us explaining this change and an email from ProPet with your temporary password (check your spam folder). If you didn’t receive the email from ProPet, please email us and we’ll resend it. You will need to set up your ProPet login in order to make a boarding reservation.

Boarding overview:

  • Available ONLY to graduates of our board & train program.

  • To be eligible for boarding:

    • you must maintain your dog’s at-home training protocols

    • your dog cannot visit a dog park, dog daycare or other dog boarding facility within 30 days of their arrival (this is for the health & safety of all dogs in our care!)

    • Your dog must be in good health. We do not accept sick dogs, including dogs with diarrhea.

    • Your dog MUST be current on rabies, distemper and bordetella.

    • As of January 1, 2023, documentation must be provided showing that the dog has received negative results on a fecal exam within 12 months of the boarding reservation.

  • Rates:

    • Standard: $65/night

    • Holiday: $100/night only for the nights of Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve

  • Boarding includes:

    • Supervised playtime with appropriate friends (canine and human), which typically includes trail runs, weather permitting

    • The maintenance of all training protocols

Optional add-ons

You have the option to add on the following services to your dog’s boarding stay:

  • Structured walks ($30 each) - All dogs get plenty of exercise here during playtime and trail runs, but if you’d also like your dog to be walked, you can indicate the number of walks you’d like to add to your dog’s boarding stay. We do the very best we can to honor all walk requests, and you’ll only be charged for the number of walks your dog receives.

  • Bath ($30 - $50) - The dogs play hard here! We’re happy to give them a bath prior to pick up so that they return home squeaky clean.

  • Nail trim ($30 - $50) - We do not wrangle dogs into submission for a nail trim, nor do we bribe them; instead, we teach them how to stay calm and accept nail dremeling. If you are maintaining your dog’s good nail dremeling behavior at home, then you won’t have to worry about a higher nail trim charge. If you are not maintaining this behavior or if someone else is doing the wrangle/bribe method to get your dog to cooperate for a trim (such as a groomer or vet), then we have to start all over again to get your dog to a place of calm acceptance each time we trim their nails. In that case, you will be charged the higher nail trim rate.

Please note: We cannot do baths or nail trims on Monday mornings! All services are completed the day of pick up, and we need time to be able to get that done on Monday mornings. If you’d like your dog to have a bath or nail trim prior to pick up, please schedule your pick up time for the afternoon.

To make a boarding reservation, please use our new scheduling system below. You will need to create an account the first time you use the system. If your dog has boarded with us in the past, then their vaccine and fecal exam information should already be entered; if not, please enter it and upload the corresponding documentation for our files.

Hours

The scheduler below will have the final word on what dates/times are available, but overall, here are the standard hours for boarding appointments:

  • Monday - Friday: 9:30am to 5pm

  • Saturday: 9am to 12pm

  • Sunday: not available

  • We do not schedule appointments on holidays.

We will be closed from February 17-25, 2024 for a family break.
