Dog Training Shadow Program
We offer a 5-day shadow program for likeminded folks who are interested in learning more about our approach to dog training. This is an up-close-and-personal experience! You’ll shadow Jess and her staff for 5 days and get to know her training protocols, socialization approach, boarding policies and more.
This is a very hands-on, physically active program. It is not a classroom-style program at all; you’ll be working alongside Jess and the team every day. Working with the team gives you the opportunity to learn and implement Jess’s training, and it also gives you the opportunity to learn how she thinks things through—what she’s looking for in a skill, how she troubleshoots issues, how she decides what’s next for the dog, how she chooses field trip locations, and more.
Dog Training Shadow Program quick facts:
Cost: $1,250 - cost includes 5 days of shadowing (Monday through Friday) from 9am to 5pm, and lunch each day
Lodging is not provided, but we can recommend nearby bed & breakfasts
This program is appropriate for:
new or aspiring balanced dog trainers
established balanced dog trainers who want to take their skill set to the next level
established balanced dog trainers who want to expand a specific area of their business (for example, offering board & trains, alumni boarding, etc.)
You will get LOTS of guidance and coaching from us! We will only pair you with dogs that are appropriate for your skill level and for skills you’re ready to learn, and you will be supervised and coached the entire time.
This program is not appropriate for folks who are curious about balanced training, have never used e-collars or prong collars, or who need help training their dog.
Also, please note that this is a very physically active program. Most folks are surprised by this! You’ll be on your feet every day for 8 hours, including several miles of dog walks each day. There isn’t an option to sit out, so please make sure an active program is right for you.
Since Sadie’s Rules is run from the Schneiderman home (not a facility), we need to get to know each applicant a bit to ensure this is the right fit for all.
